JFS staff has been growing…and growing! The New American Program has hired 14 new staff since August – with three additional new staff coming on board in the coming weeks. The new staff come from seven countries and speak eight languages. Sara Bedford, our New American Program Director says, “Our new staff have demonstrated unbelievable skills, dedication and perseverance in the face of a truly challenging time. Five new staff are Afghan, and all have shown empathy and really pushed to resettle evacuees and refugees this fall.
New staff have added to our depth of expertise and our ability to start new programs, from an Afghan women’s group to deeper case management services, youth mentoring, volunteer coordination, and logistics support for newcomers. I’m honored to work alongside them and excited to see what we can do together moving forward.”
