We have been hard at work on our new Jewish Poverty Initiative, meeting with area rabbis, congregants, members of the Jewish community and lay leaders who provide a network of support to our most vulnerable community members.
More and more of our friends and neighbors are facing financial distress under the losses, demands and restrictions of Covid-19. Confidential communication with community members inform us of their most critical needs, with a focus on what will help create safety right now and what will help develop stability long term.
We are also committed to finding and learning about those who have faced long term struggles with issues of poverty to develop a network of support for the most vulnerable among us. We are in the critical discovery phase of our new initiative and we will be reporting back in the coming months in order to raise awareness about this acute issue, and to inform about new initiatives, opportunities and programming.
