JFS is delighted to have developed a new partnership with Lenox Tools in Longmeadow, MA. Lenox Tools offers highly paid job opportunities as well as in-house vocational training for their employees, and boasts a training classroom with instruction to train employees to become a CNC or forklift operator.
Recently, our Employment Coordinator, Tatyana Abashina and Employment Specialist Rebecca Steinberg, along with two case managers to provide interpretation, took 6 JFS clients to a job fair at Lenox Tools. After registering with the front desk, clients were taken in pairs and small groups to speak with Lenox Tools managers. Four of the six clients, including two members of the Afghan evacuees, walked away with job offers and started in January 2022. With our Employment Coordinator’s tireless support, they all completed the background check, drug test, and onboarding process. Once they are vetted, clients can start work. After 3 months of work they will be eligible to take part in in-house training. Thanks to Tatyana’s diligent networking, these New American members of the Lenox Tools team have an opportunity to develop a career at a firm that hires and promotes from within and offers free training to employees.
