Lander Grinspoon Academy’s 4th, 5th and 6th grade classes helped JFS prepare to welcome incoming Afghan evacuees. The 5th grade class, with their teacher Morah Hilary Gollis, ran a school wide collection of clothing for newly arriving Afghan evacuees. The students collected items, sorted them for easy distribution and bagged and loaded them up to send to JFS. The 4th and 6th grade classes went shopping for needed items and helped to set up an apartment in Springfield for a newly arriving Afghan family of seven. They brought their own cleaning supplies, and one of their teachers, Becky Lederman, purchased a vacuum for us to use as well! Students washed windows, cleaned the bathroom and kitchen, set up furniture and made beds. We are so grateful for their help!
