In collaboration with the Executive Office of Elder Affairs and Massachusetts Protective Service agencies, JFS cares for older adults that need a guardian and/or conservator. When an elder is referred to the JFS Guardianship and Conservatorship Program, JFS works with the legal system to not only meet the needs of the client but to provide advocacy and help them find meaning and purpose in everyday life. We are proud of our staff who go above and beyond to ensure that our clients’ needs are met with dignity and respect.
Recently one of our clients shared that she had always wanted a patio set to sit outside, relax, and enjoy the beautiful weather. She loves spending time outdoors as it helps with her depression and connects her to her community and neighbors. While this client was out for a walk, our Guardianship team purchased and set up patio furniture on her terrace to surprise her! Upon return she was beyond excited and even called our front office to tell Claudia, our Administrative Assistant, how happy she was about her new patio set!
