Springfield –Jewish Family Service of Western Massachusetts (JFSWM) is offering its first in-house 40 hour professional interpreter training. Lead by Mariam Saleh, JFS Certified Community Interpreter Trainer, The Community Interpreter®: Professional Training for Community Interpreters is a comprehensive 40-hour interactive, skills based certificate program. It also provides the prerequisite for a national medical interpreting certification, and is the most up-to-date program in the field preparing students to work as professionals in the medical, educational or social service sectors.

Saturday, July 6th 9am – 5;30pm

The training fee is $535, which includes the 40 hour training and a copy of the most comprehensive textbooks in the interpreting field: The Community Interpreter Textbook, The Community Interpreter Workbook, and the Medical Terminology handbook (valued at $220). Snacks and beverages will be provided to training participants.

All candidates will need to demonstrate English language proficiency, proficiency in another language and provide an updated resume
