Winter Coats for Refugees

Dear Friend of JFS,

Our centennial celebration was a success! On October 6th, 150 friends and supporters of Jewish Family Service gathered to celebrate our 100th year of service to the community. It was an elegant and "hamish" evening. Thank you again to all who attended and made this event possible.

You can view more photos from the evening here. Also, our Annual Meeting this year will take place at our December board meeting inside our Springfield Jewish Community Campus office on Wednesday evening, December 7th. At that time, we will present our slate of officers and board for the coming year.

Winter Coats for Refugees

We need your help collecting new and gently-used warm winter coats for the over 100 refugees we have resettled in the last few months. Needed sizes include infant to adult, especially for school-age children. Please help us get them ready for winter. Click here for more details.

Volunteers Needed!

If you ever thought about volunteering at JFS, now is the time. We are currently looking for volunteers:

1. to help families learn English
2. to help with office-related tasks such as answering phones, copying and filing
3. to make friendly visits to older adults in our community

To get started, please contact our Volunteer Coordinator, Daisy Kabochi at 413.455.1936 x100 or d.kabochi@jfswm.org.

JFS in the News

Recently, Sylvia Staub, a volunteer at JFS and Tamador Gibreel, JFS Family Support Specialist were interviewed about a support group they facilitate for Syrian refugee women. Click here to watch their segment on WGBY's Connecting Point. Thank you Tamador and Sylvia for the work that you do!
