Springfield – With more older adults than ever online and engaged in social media, seniors are at an ever increasing threat for their financial and other sensitive personal information to be compromised. What’s more, seniors and families often lack the knowledge needed to protect themselves and their loved ones from the growing risks. To learn more, join us at “Protect Seniors Online” on Thursday, May 11, 2017, 1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. in Jewish Family Service’s Community Room, 1160 Dickinson Street, Springfield, MA (parking lot is on the Converse Street side).

Suzanne McElroy from Home Instead Senior Care will focus on the cyber threats that can put older adults in jeopardy. During this presentation, you will be able to:

  • Identify the top online scams against seniors.
  • Recognize what might make older adults vulnerable.
  • Start conversations with older adults about the potentially sensitive topics of online safety.
  • Understand best practices to better protect older adults.

Free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served.

Please pre-register. Register online www.jfswm.org or call 413.737.2601. Co-sponsored by Home Instead Senior Care.
