Give the Gift of Passover

Springfield –This year, more than ever, we need to take a deep breath and appreciate- truly appreciate- the freedom that we experience living in our country.

In a month, we will celebrate Passover with our friends and family. As we gather around the table, we will tell the story, once again, of our journey from slavery to freedom. Passover is a way for us to remember- and to never forget what oppression and hunger feel like. It is also a reminder for us that hunger does not take a holiday.

That is why the Jewish Family Service Matzah-Passover Appeal is so vital for those in our community that need our help. With your generous support, we are able to provide a meaningful celebration of Passover to homebound seniors and to those in the Jewish communities with limited financial resources. Last year, we packed and delivered kosher-for-Passover food to over 260 households so everyone can set their own Seder table. We also sponsored dozens of individuals to attend a communal Seder at a local synagogue who otherwise would not have been able to. Let’s join together as a community to demonstrate that we will do our part in repairing the world- one person and family at a time.

JFS is ready to assist; if you or someone you know would like to receive non-perishable kosher for Passover food or attend a community sponsored Seder, please contact Galina Abashina, or (413) 455-1936, ext.106.
