Bob's E-Newsletters

Dear JFS Community,

Many of us have felt like strangers at various times in our lives. While we recollect our own feelings of being a stranger, during Passover, we are also welcoming strangers into our homes and community. Strangers can sometimes open our world to mystery and the unseen. It is a human condition to prefer to be with like-minded people who are familiar to us.

It's a winter wonderland, but at JFS spring is in the air!

Dear JFS Community,

Dear JFS Comminity,

Are you a traditional, club, or open faced "sandwich?" Carol Abaya characterizes three different kinds of "sandwiches" for those who are part of the "Sandwich Generation."  The categories cover anyone who is involved with elder care at the same time that they need to care for their own children-young or old.

Dear JFS Community,

These are remarkable times!

The unprecedented storm has left many, well most of us, with cold homes, cold showers and scrambling to care for loved ones.

Dear JFS Community,

Tonight, while JFS is preparing to pick up an Iraqi refugee family of five and settle them in their new home in our community, I am mindful that this is the  time of year Jews around the world turn to prayer and contemplation to reflect on where they are and where they are going.

Dear JFS Community,

FAMILY is at the heart of Jewish Family Service’s work in the Jewish community and beyond. JFS works with individuals to help them improve their quality of life, strengthening family ties, which in turn strengthens our community.
